Burton Women’s Jet Set Jacket Review
The Burton women’s Jet Set jacket is made from forty percent recycled materials and thermolite insulation for a jacket that’s both breathable and waterproof. This is an affordably priced snowboarding jacket and one that has a lot to offer in terms of style, fit and overall quality.
Because it’s designed as a slim fit jacket, it may not be ideal for plus sized wearers. Unfortunately, women who wore a size large and up had complaints about limited range of motion and general discomfort when wearing this model.
Also, while marketed as a snowboarding and skiing jacket, consumers felt that the jacket’s moisture wicking abilities leave much to be desired.
Burton is a popular brand that features an extensive line of outdoor clothing. They’re typically known for their high quality products which are normally priced on the steeper side, so many consumers were pleasantly surprised to learn that the Jet Set was so reasonably priced.
This water, snow and wind proof jacket can handle pretty much anything Mother Nature can throw at it, thanks to the innovative thermal insulation and the jacket’s slim fit design. However, you may not want to layer your clothing with this jacket if you’re planning on participating in heavy outdoor sports.

Burton Snowboarding Jacket Pros and Cons
Pros: Consumers loved the interior chest pocket which is a handy place to store your smartphone and other personal items. While lightweight, this jacket is said to be extremely warm and the perfect choice for wear in snowy conditions. The material used is highly breathable and works to keep moisture away from your skin and clothes. Consumers also loved the small hidden ID badge window located on the inside of the jacket. The earbud openings were another feature that shows the manufacturer added all of these nice touches to create a jacket that’s packed with innovative handy features that can meet your needs when you’re out on the slopes. While some consumers felt that the size ran a bit small, others stated that it was the perfect jacket for layering. The wide range of colors and patterns was a big selling point for this model.
Cons: The jacket’s insulation works impressively well, possibly too well. Some consumers complained of sweat buildup. Instead of the fabric wicking away the moisture, the consumer stated she had to remove her coat in order to allow her clothes to dry. While there are vents located under the arms, it didn’t help to prevent this issue. A number of consumers also had complaints in regards to the zippers under the arms, which many felt were uncomfortable. While definitely a warm jacket, many consumers stated they would not wear it during any serious snow activity such as skiing or snowboarding. Some consumers felt that the size of the jacket was not accurate and recommend purchasing a size up. Another complaint involved the jacket’s collar which one consumers stated was loose. Unfortunately, the collar does not contour to the neck like most consumers thought it should. Some consumers also had issues with the jacket’s buttons, which many stated fell off after just a few uses.
Women Snowboarding Thermolite Jacket Conclusion and Rating
Definitely a jacket that received some mixed feedback, while for some, the jacket did not offer the best fit, others fell in love with all of the features the Jet Set had to offer. If you wear a size large and up you might want to look elsewhere for a fit that’s more accommodating, otherwise you may experience decreased movement in the shoulders, arms and bust, not to mention added discomfort due to the zippers located under the arms. Small to medium sized women can benefit from this reasonably priced jacket that has a lot to offer in terms of style, storage and warmth. Consumers gave this jacket a rating of four out of five stars. Women of all sizes had complaints about the discomfort caused by the zippers under the arms, however, this issue shouldn’t be a problem if you’re wearing a fleece or thick cotton layer underneath.
Burton is a popular name brand in the snowboarding and skiing world and their name is often connected to quality and style, which is why most consumers can agree that this jacket is definitely a steal for the price.
